Hi, I am a landscape and wildlife photographer in Christchurch, New Zealand. I started this blog in recognition that many of us have a huge passion for photography but also have day jobs that are likely to continue to be our main source of income.

Photography will always be a huge passion for me and I plan to continue to improve and learn. I get some great inspiration for professional photographers and I plan to share some of these inspirations with you as well as tips I have learnt along the way.

I hope some of the blogs are of interest to you and strike a chord with how you like to enjoy photography, particularly landscape and wildlife photography  So here is a little about me:

I live in beautiful Christchurch in the stunning country of New Zealand, I am mum to three adult children. In my day job I work to ensure the environments we live in promote positive health and wellbeing and right now  supporting the tracking and tracing of everyone with COVID-19 oh how our world has changed.

I have always loved taking photos and it was a family joke that I would buy a camera at duty free before we travelled anywhere but in 2013 I got my first DSLR and that is when the love affair with photography really took off.

Most of the photos in this page are on the Sony A77ii (till late 2018) and now the Sony a7iii or a6500 all of which I absolutely love.  I am a bit of a Sony fan but that is because it works for me all the brands have amazing gear.

Lens wise on the A77ii my go to lens was the Sony Zeiss 16-80. For the A7iii I combine it with the 16-35  f4 or 70-200 f4  and more recently the 100-400 to allow me to get the wildlife shots.  I am also pretty keen on long exposure so have a set of NiSi filters and my editing is done on Adobe Lightroom. I am not massively keen on editng so most is pretty simple.

Please be in touch with any feedback, comments or requests. Like most photographers we regularly get asked to do a range of different things. Some of these have been commercial and some for charities. That might be photos for brochures, websites both commercial NGO’s, photographing events, product photography etc. I can sometimes be swayed so feel free to get in touch if you have a question.  Here is a quick look at some of the fun I have had.
